I had this problem when installing xp x64 on my dell xps 400. On normal boot it says "an attempt was made to execute a non-executable memory" 0x000000FC (0xF7A218E8,0x07464963,0xF7A21848,0x00000001) On Safe Mode boot is says, 0x0000007E (0xC0000005,0xF7A7B8F4,0xF7A7B800,0xF7A7B4FC) On last know conf.....boot is says 0s000000FC It's a good habit to reformat every 6 months if possible if not yearly.
